This pattern as the name suggests was designed for fishing on Lough Beltra in the west of Ireland.It has gained a great reputation there for spring salmon and Peter O' Reilly states that anyone fishing there should not be without one.It is a beautifully dressed fly usually tied on a single hook.It is also a great favourite on the Delphi fishery in Connemara.
