This pattern is simply one of the best, fished on the point fly in the mayfly. The body is dark brown and is tied with Traditional Irish Dubbing no.48 DarkSedge Brown. I still have an original pattern given to me by Roy Graham of Letter kesh. From its colour and pushed back partridge hackle it is almost certainly taken for the ascending mayfly nymph. It can be deadly particularly in a good wave and in wet, dull conditions.
